Campaign Structure

Mutiny’s End will take place from 17th January to 2nd February 2025.

The campaign will include both the LVO Narrative event, and a single turn Animosity event on our Discord.

The LVO Narrative event will follow the immediate aftermath of the betrayal at the Three Captains’ Meeting on Mutiny’s End.

Complete details on this event can be found in the LVO Narrative package. After the flight from Mutiny’s End, the Discord portion of the event will take place. Players will be able to join one of three coalitions - the Stormdance Reavers, the Umbral Dominion, or the Blackwing Corsairs.

Campaign Mechanics

When the campaign turn begins, players will receive two pieces of information - Bloody Bennet’s Riddle Fragments, and the Treasure Map.

It will be up to the players, working in their coalitions, to discover the correct order of the riddle, solve its puzzles, and determine where they will search for the treasure.

The Treasure Map will be a map of the Karkino Seas with 27 possible treasure locations identified.

When submitting a report for the turn, players will be asked which location they wish to search. Each report submitted to the correct location will earn that coalition the maximum number of points. Reports submitted nearby will contribute a lesser amount of points, diminishing as they move further from the correct location.

After the end of the event, the scores will be tallied, narrative submissions will be read, and a final Unfolding Narrative will be released telling the story of Mutiny’s End, Krabnos, and the Search for the Halls of Drowned Gold.

Narrative Expectation

The premise of this game is a treasure hunt. You can expect us to deliver a treasure hunting experience. Our expectation of you is that you bring a character interested in hunting for treasure.

Scope

The narrative assumption for this event will be that each player is representing a ship, its captain, and its crew. This could look like anything from a warcry band up to a decently sized Age of Sigmar army, depending on how you represent them. However, the narrative will not be representing massed battles with thousands of soldiers on a side, or high-powered individual heroes.

Sidebar - Writing to the Story

The story we are looking to tell with this event is swashbuckling adventure, piracy, and treasure on the tropical Aqshy seas. When planning your character or writing your story submission, its a good idea to keep in mind that that’s the story we are looking to tell, and that’s the content we’re looking for in crafting the Unfolding Narrative. Some characters and concepts won’t be a good fit for this expectation. If your character is powerful or resourceful enough that they wouldn’t be reliant on a sailing ship for transport, they are probably too powerful for the narrative event. If they can easily ‘solve’ the problems of naval combat, say by having ready access to flying creatures, handfuls of metaliths at their disposal, or magical abilities that completely bypass the story, they will not be a good fit. We have a shared narrative expectation so that everyone can engage with the story, and a cohesive tale can be spun together. If your character or your story do not engage with that shared expectation, we are most often simply not going to be able to include it.
